During this time of Pre-field ministry (also called deputation) our family is travelling in Canada and the united states to share our burden with churches and individuals in order to build up a team of partners who will commit to pray with and for us and who will also commit to give regularly so that we can live in chad and do the work God has called us to do.
People ask us all the time when we are going back to Chad. When we have reached 100% of the committed monthly support needed, we will be cleared to move to Chad. This is a faith-building process, as we do not know exactly how long it will take us to raise our support. We earnestly desire to be in Chad with the orphans, but understand that we are dependent on the Lord’s time. We are actively seeking meetings with churches and individuals and trusting God to prepare people’s hearts along the way. We are also praying for God to work in our lives and to use us to minister to people we meet along the way. We are making plans for this time of pre-field ministry and for our eventual move to Chad, all the while understanding that all plans are held loosely and are open to God’s will and plan for us. In order to help you better pray for us, here are the plans we have made:
- Christmas 2023 – Arrive at 50% of our monthly committed support
- May 2024 – Arrive at 75% of our monthly committed support in order to attend the required launch seminar at Baptist Mid-Missions in July 2024
- July 2024 – Attend the launch seminar at BMM (this is held once a year and is required for missionaries to attend before moving to the field)
- Late summer 2024– Prepare a shipping container to be sent ahead to Chad with our personal effects and supplies for the orphanage
- Summer-fall 2024 – Raise funds for one-time costs related to the move
- End of the year 2024 – Be ready to travel to Chad
