STREET CHILDREN
Kemnda Orphan Ministries has been working with a group of street children in Koumra for a few years. Three of these boys have been placed in full-time care as part of a local Chadian adoptive family. Each has a unique and difficult story. One of the boys got run over by a drunk driver one night as he slept on the street corner. He dragged himself to the home of Kemnda workers that had been reaching out to him. He received care at the hospital and has been a part of that family ever since. Another of the boys was on the verge of being sold to slave traders by his brother. The police intervened and placed him into the care of our adoptive family. The third boy had been on the street, become part of another adoptive family, then sent back to the street again when his adoptive family moved. He, too, joined the adoptive family with the help of Kemnda Orphan Ministries. These children are growing and learning. Pray much for them that the Lord will accomplish His good purpose in their lives.
Because we do not have facilities to house all these street children full-time, we invite the group of children to activities at the mission base several times a month to play volleyball and soccer, to wash, eat a meal, play games and do Bible and school lessons.
ORPHANED BABIES
โKemnda Orphan Ministries is currently caring full-time for 5 orphaned babies who lost their mothers during their birth. The situations of the families of the babies are often very dire. Most often, the orphaned babies simply die. During the past year we have been approached by over 10 families needing help with motherless infants. Two of these infants passed away due to their state of advanced malnutrition when they came, and others were helped to stay in their families by provision of formula.
We expect the number of babies needing care to continue to grow and our desire is to be able to help when the need arises.
KEmnda means “kindness”

OUR VISION
For orphaned children in Chad to know the love of Jesus and the love of a family.
OUR MISSION
To fulfill the Great Commission by loving orphaned children as our own and working to provide them with a loving Christian home, education & training.
This will be done by:
1. Continued outreach and care ministry to children living on the street
2. Promoting extended family care when possible, through support, education and resources to help orphans stay with their biological family
3. When necessary, placement of orphaned or abandoned children in our Family Homes that mimic the traditional Chadian family
4. Participation with the children in our local Baptist church
FACILITIES
At present we are running Kemnda Orphan Ministries out of an old mission home. The home is full, with eight babies and their caregivers, and street children coming regularly for activities. As we expand, we will need to build more homes to provide space for more children. We recently were able to put up a brick wall around the compound to provide more security and safety.

Hereby perceive we the loveย of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay downย ourย lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowelsย of compassionย from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. I John 3:16-18
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves…..Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction,ย andย to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:22, 27
Whatย doth itย profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food. James 2:14-15
